University School: Carey and Barnes, ARS National Hoopfest
February 5, 2019
University School 63, Berkeley Prep 47
Altgough we’ve witnessed University School’s versitle big Scottie Barnes regularly, he just amazes us everytime. The ESPN top 5 2020 is a hybrid athlete that can score off the dribble and make impact plays on both ends. The 2020 6’8” Barnes can create in the post with his back to the basket or face-up and punish opponents off the dribble.
Vernon Carey Jr. is a dominant and powerful force. Carey is the The University School 5 ⭐️ prospect and he’s knocking on the door of that ESPN No. 1 ranked spot. Carey, stands at 6’11”, 265 lb specimen who just recently became a member of the 2019 McDonald All-American team. With Barnes and Carey University School is ranked No. 20 by MaxPreps. Carey has committed to Duke and he’s a new wave coming in this fall.
Hosting Coach Garcia of Berkeley Prep has some upside in 2022 6’5” F CJ Hawkins. Chase Barrs, 6’ 9” F who’s committed to Western Michigan played well on both ends and 2020 Kegan Karnes made shots when needed for the Buccaneers. Look for them next year!
