Bay Area Hoops has witness Plant City’s own PG Matt Simpson grow into a solid general.  Each stage of his development has excelled him to be a factor at the next level.  Under the wing and guidance of Head Coach Billy Teeden who made waves developing Ex-Tampa PG standout Jonathan Jean now at Furman University, Simpson has set his name in stone amongst the top area guards.

We first notice Simpson at “The Breakdown Showcase” Exposure event in Tampa, Fl a few years back and his development over the years to lead a team has been impressive.  Taking a strong initiative to get better and stronger, Simpson truly has embarrassed his skill and a lead role for the Raiders. While expanding his range on his perimeter shot which has been his staple offensively, that skill addition enable the Raider’s to become extremely versatile this season.  Explosiveness in contact situations helped increase his FT attempts and his scoring average.  Simpson averaged 19.8 PPG and 5.1 RPG while going 123 for 152 (81%) from the strip.
