The Clinics 1st Annual Back to School Book-Bag Drive

August 6, 2016  The Sports Performance Clinic hosted a “Back to School Book-Bag Drive”.   Head coordinator and Clinic owner Bobby Parker explained “This fundraising event was for 100 underprivileged children in this neighborhood to get provided with school bags filled with essential necessities for school this year. In addition, we have partnered with barbers who will be donating their time to provide free haircuts on-site to these children, as well as guest speakers to provide inspiring guidance.”

As Bay Area Hoops meets community members and  works with businesses around the city of Tampa and there organizations, you’ll learn that its more than sports.  Times, and life changes can make it difficult for parents to purchase school supplies.   When asked Parker explained that “The Sports Performance Clinic was started with a desire to help the youth in our Tampa area to achieve their athletic potential, and give them a place to play in a safe and supervised environment.” Guest speakers in attendance were former Dallas Cowboy Kenny Gant and former Olympic Gold Medal Sprinter Calvin Smith.

With programs, facilities and organizations like the Clinic, the commitment to build a great city with a sincere desire will continue to show.  With everyone’s help the Clinic  was able to donate backpacks, hundreds of pencils, erasers, notebooks and so much more!
