2014 SEBA Under Armour Showcase Recap

The 2014 SEBA Under Armour Showcase was held at Tampa Prep in Tampa,FL. Sept.13th.   The SEBA Showcase provided two courts of competitive action.  Athletes were able to show Scouts and Coaches their abilities plus learn important info from PCA (a national non-profit organization who develops “Better Athletes and Better People” by providing student-athletes a positive, character-building sports experience).  Teams alternated between classroom sessions with PCA, Drill stations and 5 on 5 games.

The camp showcased some impressive High School and JUCO players.

 

Top Performers(No Order):

Tyson WardTyson Ward  Jr.  6’1”  CG  Tampa Prep:  Showed much improvement since last year.  Ward has grown about 3″ and looks very aggressive offensively.  Ward, a lefty was able to break defenders down and give himself separation with his ball handling skills.  Looking forward to watching him grow as a leader on the court.  Lots of upside!

RJ PalmerRJ Palmer Sr.  6’5”  SG  Wharton:  Gifted prospect with lots of energy and athleticism.  Palmer’s rebounding skills helped him to initiate the fast break and finish above the rim in transition.

Lawrence Watt  Sr.  6’4”  Mitchell:  A versatile player and good decision maker.  Played well within his game and he wasn’t scared to attack the opposition.  Very athletic with a nice mid-range jumper.  He showed a lot of energy during drill sets.

David JonesDavid Jones Jr. 6’1” Leto:   Efficient PG.  Under the Radar kid with tons of talent.  Shows balance, a skill set and was crafty in the open court.  Jones was a surprise talent. Keep an eye on this guy!

Dontay Bassett  Jr.  6’9”  Oldsmar Christian:  Was aggressive all day.  Played his position in the post and got up the floor in transition.  Has a solid frame and plays very strong in the paint.

LJ FigueroraLJ Figuerora  Soph.  6’5”  Oldsmar Christian:  Ran like a deer!  A scorer with defensive skills.  Showed a quick first step and a strong presence on help side defense.  LJ has lots of potential with plenty of basketball ahead he need to stay on attack at all times.  PROSPECT!!

Maurice Moore  Sr.  6’4”  Jefferson:  Good player and a competitor.  A hard guard for defenders because of his size.  Gets into the lane and likes the pull-up jump shot.  Moore is continuing to develop has a player.  Becoming a better player off the ball will be his challenge.

Andrew MoemekaAndrew Moemeka  Sr.  6’8”  Oldsmar Christian:  Rebounded well.  Started slow but showed how active he can be around the rim.  Positioning himself around the basket for scoring opportunities. Showed good hands catching on the low block.  Consistently ran the floor and finished.

Derek WebsterDerek Webster  Soph.  6’4”  Seffner Christian:  Strong player around the basket.  Starting to develop a long range shot.  Got out in transition.  Webster was able to take the hits and gets to the foul line.
