NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship: Mississippi State and Notre Dame will set the stage on Sunday

As we head into Sunday’s NCAA Women’s championship Basketball game with Mississippi State and Notre Dame here’s what we know.

There will be two standout factors Sunday, and there names are Teaira McCowan of Mississippi St. and Notre Dame’s Arike Ogunbowale.  If Mississippi State can establish a consistent low post presence with McCowan and put Notre Dame in foul trouble this game can be over at the beginning of the second half.  Victoria Vivians had a 25 pt performance even though she was in foul trouble against Louisville and on Sunday Vivian shouldn’t have those foul trouble’s again.

The Irish have to bring the same energy and standout back-court play from the UConn game and that means Ogunbowale will be have to dominant again.  Grabbing 32 pts from Jackie Young was big for the Irish against Louisville but the question of the day will be, can the Notre Dame’s impact players put up more then half of the Irish point production again?  Lets not forget, this game will be decided on coaching adjustments so look for Coach Muffet McGraw and Coach Vic Schaefer to be active.
