Will Sagemont repeat?  That was the questioned surrounding the arena today as Sagemont would face Providence today in the 2015 FHSAA Class 3A Boys Basketball Championship.  Sagemont beat Providence last year 78-59.  This year was a different story with Providence dominating Sagemont. Offensively Sagemont struggled in their offense and depended on isolation plays to find points.  Providence turned their opponents turnover to points, hustled for lose balls and used there size to their advantage.  Providence looks strong for next year.

The backbone of Providence Wyatt Walker a 6’9” 2016 PF finished with 12 pts. Deland transfer 2015 6’6” SF Jason Burnell lead all scores with 26 pts plus 12 rebounds.  6’7” 2016 SF LaDarian Griffin showed lots of promised contributing 11 pts and 8 rebs. Sagemont’s 2015 6’4” SG and a UCLA commit Prince Ali started slow but caught on in the 3rd quarter with 10 pts but only finished with 13 for the game.  Sagemont’s Keyshawn Evans finished with 16 and AJ Jurko with 13.  Check out the stats.
