Game of the Week: Jefferson vs Armwood

This 6a District 9 boys basketball match up will feature the Jefferson Dragons(5-1 overall, 3-0 district) and the Armwood Hawks(2-2 overall, 2-1 district).  Coach Eric Hayes has the Dragons playing some pretty good basketball.   Their only averaging 67.2 ppg but are in double figures in assist and steals.  Jeffersons Vernon Jackson, Shaquille Mandy and Tamir Blackshear are scrappy on defense which turns into offense for the Dragons.  Will junior PG Maurice Moore  play tonight? That will add another weapon for the dragons.

Armwood was said to have a difficult start this year with big key losses from last year however, the Hawks have found a some hope with PG Kieran Smith(Sr).  Smith is averging 21 ppg and 2.5 spg.  Shawn Pomales(JR) and Javone King(Sr) could be key factors.  Coach Jeff Pafunda’s team will have a tough challenge tonight to get a win in Jefferson’s gym.
