BKD Showcase: 2022 6’5” CJ Hawkins Strength, Power and Athleticism

Tampa, FL – CJ Hawkins should be a name you want to know and pay attention too.  This 6’5”  Tampa, FL Forward is hungry and blossoming into a good prospect.  Hawkins is a confidant lefty that will certainly bring his hard hat to the court.  This hybrid G/F has a work ethic and skill that should catch the attention of many coaches this season at Berkeley Prep.

Hawkins will catch your eye immediately with is bully ball play, rebounding and eagerness to run the floor.  He put is talents on display multiple times at the 2019 Breakdown Showcase last Saturday.  We have been watching Hawkins since his middle school years and his development has improved tremendously.  This past summer, he started to get his name out by playing on the 15 U E1T1 team that took 2nd place at the EYBL Peach Jam in Augusta, SC.  Hawkins managed to show his ability to knock down open jumpers including from beyond the arc.  His increased versatility, ball handling and good court vision will make him very attractive this up coming season.

College coaches are starting to take notice, as Hawkins looks to secure his first offer.  We got a chance to talk with CJ and he would describe his own game on the court, travel ball, his continuation to work and his thoughts on BKD.  Listen to his conversation below.
