4th Best of the Best Summer Showcase Recap

Bradenton, FL – Saturday at IMG Academy the 4th Annual Best Of The Best Summer Showcase highlighted some talented prospects in the State of Florida.  With a very loaded event we got to watch a few guys.

Top Standouts:

Sebring HS 2020 6’4″ SG Eric Brown put his game on display all day.  He showed his versatility on the perimeter and has a slasher. Brown is a transition scorer who fills the lane, creates offense off the rebound and will leak out at any giving time.  Really think Brown has the tools and athleticism to stand out and become a must see player. Look for the Team Knight player to make his name popular playing this July.  The 2021 6’7″ F from East River HS, Camden Easley has attributes that will take him a long way.  Easley Length can be unmatched against opposing players at times.  His rebounding skill was very existing on both ends and he shows that he establishes post position was pretty good.  Playing within the E1T1 program will help Easley maximize his exposure.  Believe me you’ll hear more about him soon.

When engaged in the game 2019 6’1″ G Norris Taylor can really fill up the score sheet.  This Combo Guard loves to play beyond the arc and plays at high level.  Taylor who plays for Bay Area Hoops Elite, can score on all three levels and he looks to have improved on his shot selections since our last viewing.  Not a bad player to put on your radar!  My most impressive player was 2020 6’3″ G Javaris Rolle.  The Team Knight prospect can multitask, meaning he can do things you would need to combine 2 or more players together to get.  From scoring, providing assist and rebound to start breaks was impressive.  When Rolle enhances his tools and work on is fatigue factor he will be someone to reckon with.

Others we liked:

2019 PG, Spoto HS Anthony Goden– Creates offense of a fast first step and looks to make the extra pass. Goden should look for his shot when offense doesn’t develop.

2020 PG, Oldsmar Christian, Jalen Ortiz– Keeps his head on a swivel, more effective on the ball but needs to be patient and utilize the screen and roll action more.

2019 PG Strawberry Crest, Jalen Brown– Is a scoring PG but can impact the game much more when he makes others better.  Can extend the floor and penetrate off the dribble.

2020 F Oxbridge, Christopher George – Effective and systematic in a offense.  If George demands the ball a bit more he will show his hidden leadership qualities.

2018 PG Legacy Charter, Dylan Clinger – Shooter! Put other players on notice last weekend. Made consecutive plays and provide energy his team needed.
