BAHE March Madness Recap
Bay Area Hoops Elite (BAHE) hosted its first annual tournament “BAHE March Madness” under Florida USSSA and it was a successful event. Throughout the weekend we had a chance to watch some teams, here who we saw.
There were two players that really stood out to me at the BAHE March Madness event in Tampa, FL. Those players were Jahsean Corbett and Brandon Gainey. The 2021 6’4″ SF Jahsean Corbett of DC Blue Devils and Horizon MS was the most impressive player based on his upside. For his size and abilities, he looked comfortable filling the lanes, being a target for his PG and slashing to the rim. Corbett is a player to watch as he develops. The second player was 2019 6’5″ SF Brandon Gainey who plays for Bay Area Hoops Elite. His athleticism was his strong points but his play behind zones for alley-oops and how he connects with his PG was interesting. He’s a “Go get it” type of player who likes to play above the rim. Gainey who plays with Port Charlotte HS will be a name to remember next year.
